Insplorion AB: Insplorion sells an Acoulyte instrument to Professor Moshe Herzberg at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Israel

Professor Moshe Herzberg and his group at the Department of Desalination and Water Treatment (DWT) purchases an Acoulyte instrument to use in their ongoing research spanning from bacterial biofilm formation on membranes to anti-fouling agents via surface modifications.

The interest for the capabilities of the Acoulyte has been high since a visit to Gothenburg and Insplorion in early 2018 when the capabilities of Insplorion’s technology were explored. The main processes that will be studied are hydration and swelling of macromolecules as well as mass transport of nanoparticles in hydrogels. These processes will be studied in combination with the acoustic QCM-D technique already used in the Herzberg lab during the last decade.

"We see great potential in better understanding how different types of coatings in general and specifically, membrane modifications including hydrogels as well as adsorbed bio-macromolecules can affect biofouling processes in water treatment systems", comments Professor Moshe Herzberg at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev.

"We are very happy to see Professor Herzberg among our users and are confident that great results will be produced in his lab. That we see this installation now is also a sign that universities start to reopen up after covid-19 lockdowns", comments Patrik Dahlqvist, CEO at Insplorion.

The order value is somewhat under 0,5 MSEK after academic discount has been applied.
