Insplorion AB: Battery Sensor patent granted in EU and soon to be granted in China

Insplorion"s battery sensor patent "Battery with sensor" has today been granted by the European Patent Office, EPO. The patent will also be granted in China upon payment of the registration fees.

The patent application was filed in April 2014 and went into the national examination phase in November 2016. The patent, EP3130029, has today been granted by EPO. It will also be approved for the Chinese market as patent 201580018492X, upon payment of the grant fees, which is currently in process. The patent covers the use of Insplorion’s core NPS technology in a battery charge sensor.

The patent provides protection in Europe and China until March 19, 2035*. The next step for the European market is a validation process for a number of strategically and commercially relevant countries within the European Patent Convention. The validation means that the EP approved patent will undergo the selected countries’ administrative processes. For the Chinese market, the only remaining step is  administrating the registration fees, which is currently in process.

"We have earlier this year seen how competitive our battery sensor technology is when winning the European Eurostars funding grant in tough competition. That our battery patent now becomes granted within EU, as expected, and also for the increasingly important Chinese market, strengthens our position in our dialogues with the industry and potential licensees", says Patrik Dahlqvist, CEO of Insplorion.
