Redsense Medical AB announces today that the Company has received its first order from Canada. The news follows the recent conclusion of a new distributor agreement for the region, which was disclosed in August.

"It is gratifying to be able to provide hemodialysis patients in Canada with the benefit of a safer treatment. With this order, we are already off to a strong start in this new but important and promising market," says Patrik Byhmer, CEO of Redsense Medical AB.

The Company is currently in the midst of an effort to open up new markets for the upcoming market launch of the new Redsense Clamp accessory. Redsense conducted a pre-market proof of concept evaluation with the clamp, in cooperation with Toronto University Hospital. A usability evaluation with the clamp is intended to take place later this year.

The Redsense Alarm monitors hemodialysis treatment by detecting the presence of blood via fiber-optic sensing. In an emergency, the Redsense Clamp can clamp the bloodline automatically to stop blood flow immediately as prompted by the alarm unit.
