The raw materials company Nidhogg Resources is participating as an industry partner in a project application led by Luleå tekniska universitet within Energimyndigheten’s program Swedish Metals and Minerals. This is stated in a press release.The MAP-BIO-MINE project aims to develop environmentally adapted and selective methods for the extraction and recycling of rare earth elements through biotechnology, biomining, and digital process models.Subject to funding being granted, Nidhogg will be responsible for geological mapping, sampling, and delivery of material in the Vintjärn and Sellnäsfältet projects. Energimyndigheten’s decision on funding is expected in the second quarter of 2026.
