The exploration company Lappland Guldprospektering reports gold-bearing sections in five of seven new core drill holes at Stortjärnhobben in Storumans Municipality. "We drilled to get an answer to one question: is the gold also present deeper down? It is. Five of the seven holes yielded sections that we are reporting, and the deepest are farther down than those we have previously reported from Stortjärnhobben. The one containing the most gold is 5.1 metres with 1.76 grams of gold per tonne, in line with the average grade in the mineral resource we already have. Finding that grade so far down is what I take away from this. We will continue drilling this autumn, and the drill-hole results will be incorporated into the updated mineral resource, which we expect to be able to report at the end of October," says CEO Fredrik Johansson, CEO of Lappland Guldprospektering, in a comment. The section containing the most gold is 5.1 metres with 1.76 grams of gold per tonne, while the longest is 7 metres with 1.03 grams per tonne. The deepest reported section is located between 275 and 279 metres of drill-hole length and contains 1.17 grams of gold per tonne. The results will be included in the updated mineral resource expected at the end of October. The current inferred mineral resource amounts to 4.6 tonnes of gold in 2.65 million tonnes of rock with an average grade of 1.73 grams per tonne. The exploration company plans follow-up drilling at Nya Gilleberget and continued drilling at Stortjärnhobben during the autumn. An updated mineral resource is expected at the end of October and a preliminary economic assessment during the fourth quarter. The environmental permit for trial mining at Stortjärnhobben is subject to processing and any appeals.
