The exploration company Lappland Guldprospektering will start a drilling program of approximately 64 holes at Löparen west of Lycksele on March 9. The goal is to find the source of 50 gold-rich glacial erratics with an average grade of 7 grams of gold per tonne, found around Vormträsk.The program comprises chip drilling on a grid with 100–200 meter spacing. The initiative is financed as part of a new share issue of SEK 30 million, of which approximately SEK 5 million has been allocated for other exploration."Löparen is an interesting project, as so many gold-bearing glacial erratics have been identified without the actual source of the boulders being found. We are now starting a drilling program where we believe we can locate the origin of the boulders. It is literally a treasure hunt," says the company's CEO Fredrik Johansson.
