Finwire about Aptahem AB: Aptahem strengthens partnering efforts around Apta-1

Aptahem enters the autumn with an increased focus on commercial as well as clinical and academic collaborations around the drug candidate Apta-1. The company has engaged Jarlen Capital to broaden contacts with potential international partners, while Aptahem continues to be responsible for existing dialogues and any agreements. Aptahem CEO Mikael Lindstam writes this in a newsletter to shareholders. Jarlen Capital receives no fixed or ongoing remuneration, but is compensated only if the work leads to a commercial transaction in which Aptahem receives an upfront payment."It is important to emphasize that Aptahem is not handing over its partnering efforts to Jarlen Capital. We will continue to drive the dialogues and contacts that already exist ourselves and to work actively on new opportunities. Instead, Jarlen Capital will be an important added resource that gives us additional capacity, experience and, above all, access to a broader international network," Lindstam writes. In parallel, Aptahem has signed several confidentiality agreements with academic researchers to discuss potential collaborations. The aim is to create additional scientific and clinical evidence for Apta-1 and explore further potential areas of use. "The confidentiality agreements are in themselves no guarantees of future projects, but they mean that the dialogues have been able to progress from initial interest to more concrete discussions about potential collaborations," says the Aptahem chief.
