Finwire about Aptahem AB: Aptahem carries out rights issue - raises SEK 15.6 million

The research company Aptahem has resolved on a rights issue of units worth approximately SEK 15.6 million before issue costs. If the accompanying warrants are exercised in full, the company may receive an additional approximately SEK 6.5 million. One share entitles the holder to one unit right. Two unit rights entitle the holder to subscribe for one unit, consisting of three shares and one warrant. The subscription price is SEK 1.20 per unit, corresponding to SEK 0.40 per share. The subscription period runs from 23 September to 7 October. The last day including including the right to receive unit rights is 17 September, and 18 September is the first day without the right. The net proceeds will primarily be used for clinical development and preparations for patient studies for the drug candidate Apta-1, as well as for financial stability and partner activities. In total, 50 percent will go to clinical development and preparations for patient studies, 35 percent to financial stability and operational strength, and 15 percent to partnerships and strategic transactions. Upon full subscription, the dilution amounts to a maximum of 60 percent and approximately 66.7 percent including fully exercised warrants.”Apta-1 is already a clinical drug candidate and has completed phase 1 with a good safety and tolerability profile. Our task now is to take the next decisive value-creating step: to generate an initial clinical efficacy signal in patients. Our new strategy is based on creating an efficient path toward phase 2 through collaboration with academic and other external partners. By combining Aptahem’s resources with external clinical expertise, infrastructure and various financing opportunities, we can increase execution capacity, share development risk and use the Company’s capital more efficiently,” says Mikael Lindstam, CEO of Aptahem.”In parallel, together with Jarlen Capital, we are intensifying our efforts to identify a licensee, development partner or buyer for Apta-1. The clinical strategy and partner process are two mutually reinforcing tracks: clinical progress can clearly increase the value of the program and reduce its risk, while the right strategic partner can provide additional capital, expertise and endurance for continued development. The rights issue gives us the resources to drive this strategy forward with force, strengthen Apta-1 position ahead of the next clinical step and create the conditions for a value-creating transaction,” Lindstam continues.
