The exploration company Lappland Guldprospektering has presented its first mineral resource for Stortjärnhobben of at least 4.6 tonnes of gold. The resource comprises 2.65 million tonnes of rock with an average grade of 1.73 grams of gold per tonne and is classified as inferred. The company sees potential for expansion and plans further drilling. "It is gratifying that we can start to release figures on the amount of gold in Stortjärnhobben. It is clearer what potential we have in the project and we now have a basis for studying mining methods and costs. Moreover, this is only a beginning. There are good opportunities to extend it in several directions," says the company’s CEO Fredrik Johansson. Lappland Guldprospektering has now during the winter started a new drilling campaign to map its mineralization at greater depth. The goal is to expand the resource before next summer. The company will also apply for trial mining.
