Xoma and Boliden Rönnskär Launch Study with FLOW
Xoma has entered into a collaboration with Boliden Rönnskär to conduct tests with the FLOW technology platform. The purpose of the tests is to design a pilot plant tailored to one of the process water streams at Boliden’s smelter in Rönnskär.
The tests will provide essential data to customize the FLOW technology to Boliden Rönnskär’s specific needs and conditions. The goal is to identify solutions for more efficient treatment of water flows with challenging heavy metal concentrations.
“Being part of the continued development of an already world-leading smelter is both inspiring and a great vote of confidence,” says Isac Andersson, CEO of Xoma AB.

Xoma AB was founded with the vision to revolutionize the food industry through sustainable algae cultivation.
The company has developed a world-unique system, CLAS (Closed Loop Aquaculture System), which
offers a pioneering method for growing algae in a sustainable and efficient way. This system
reduces water and energy consumption significantly compared to traditional farming methods and can
scaled up to meet the growing demand for sustainable food. Xoma's other business area is that we use our algae to purify process water from heavy metals.
